Check your eligibility
To qualify for temporary car coverage, both you and the vehicle must meet specific criteria.
As the driver, you are required to:
- Be between 18 and 75 years old (minimum age may vary based on individual circumstances)
- Possess a current, valid, full UK driving license, held for at least 6 months (reduced to 3 months if you are over 25)
- Have a permanent address as stated in this application (note that proof of residence may be required if you make a claim)
- Have no more than one fault claim within the past 12 months
- Have no more than 9 penalty points and no disqualifications within the past 18 months
- Have never had insurance refused or a policy canceled.
- Have the owner's permission to drive the vehicle and agree to insure it, accepting responsibility for any loss or damage.
The vehicle must:
- Is registered in Great Britain, Northern Ireland, or the Isle of Man.
- Has a market value of less than £75,000.
- Has no more than 8 seats (including the driver’s seat)
- Is not imported from another country through unofficial distribution channels outside the manufacturer's authorized system.
- Is not classified as a Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV).
- Has a Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of no more than 3.5 tonnes.

Unfortunately, not everything is covered – please ensure you’re aware of what isn’t included, such as:
Tyres
Punctures, cuts, or bursts, including those caused by braking.
Electrical breakdowns
Issues with wiring, electrical components, or onboard computers.
Unnamed drivers
We will only cover drivers you have informed us about.
